Starting a horse or mule
At Cochran Equine Ranch we customize the training to each animal focusing initially on desensitization in order to build trust and confidence in the young or inexperienced animal. We include trailering and picking feet up in our program.
Desensitizing Training
Our desensitizing training program focuses on exposing horses to different stimuli to help them remain calm and focused in any environment. This training is essential for enhancing a horse's confidence and adaptability and is a great foundation regardless of the discipline the horse is engaged in.
Confidence Building
Our confidence building sessions focus on real life experiences. We expose animals to various trails and situations from brush, logs and water to steep inclines and dogs to establish a solid foundation for riding and reduce reactivity or refusal.
